Ode to my Cruiser
Gazing at you with eager, blue eyes,
Riding on your soft seat is always such a prize.
Your décor of turquoise flowers and wicker basket top it off,
Making me feel special, perhaps, even like a showoff.
Your white cushioned handles with stitching on the end,
Provides a place to firmly grasp, on you I can depend.
Admiring how you glisten in the bright, beaming sun,
Embarking on new adventures, instigating all the fun.
Gliding in and out of streets, smelling the crisp, fresh air,
Cruising fast, with wind blustering through my hair.
When I’m upon your strong and sturdy wheels,
Instant reassurance hits, I’ll make it up the hills.
Riding on you, surrounded with friends, my cares are washed away,
When my mind is clouded, for a moment with you, I pray.
An occasion to slip into another world,
And imagine as I cruise all my dreams unfurled.
Of how much you mean to me makes you worth every cent,
Memories we’ll create together forming an active life well spent.
v Counting down the days until I can ride my bike again!
